Actress in town filming The Driftless Area creates stir by tweeting selfie without makeup

   New Girl starlet Zooey Deschanel has arrived in Vancouver to film the new movie, The Driftless Area, which will be shooting locally until June 13. The movie, based on a Tom Drury novel, stars Anton Yelchin in the lead role. Yelchin plays a bartender who returns home after his parents die, only to find himself in a dangerous situation involving a mysterious woman and a violent criminal, according to the Internet Movie Database. Actors also include John Hawkes and Frank Langella.

   Deschanel got all glammed up in a gold dress and a Chanel handbag for a cast dinner at the Coal Harbour Cactus Club Sunday night.

   Just hours earlier, she created a stir on social media by stripping off her makeup for an `au natural' selfie, which she posted on Twitter. Her hair was tied up in a loose bun and she wore a long-sleeve T-shirt reading "French Kissing in The U.S.A."

   "Good morning! #nomakeup #nofilter," she tweeted.

   The 34-year-old's acting credits include starring opposite Jim Carrey in Yes Man and opposite Will Ferrell in Elf.
