Legacy of German Film Pioneer David Oliver

   The Vancouver Sun newspaper had a two page spread on the Jewish-German film producer who had to flee Nazi Germany in 1934. David Oliver produced over 200 silent films in his career and owned a chain of 65 theatres including Berlin's Capital Theatre.
   Mark Oliver his grandson only found out about his career with the discovery of a trunk in the attic after his father H.A.D. Oliver a top Vancouver criminal lawyer passed away.
   Mark Oliver will be screening two of his grandfather's silent films, Im Reich der Zwerge(In the Kingdom of the Elves, 1916) and Guido der Erste(Guido the First, 1915) in the Vancity Theatre at 1181 Seymour on June 5th, 8:30 PM.  Admission is $15.00.  Here is the full articles.
